据《计算机世界》澳大利亚版报道，在澳墨尔本、珀斯、蓝山、马伦宾比等多地出现“反5G”示威。马伦宾比示威者有数百名，其他地区有数十名，另外他们在社交媒体的“反5G”群组里也吸引了上千名成员。
许多“反5G”群组同时也发布“反疫苗”相关信息，一名带头人表示：5G的辐射强度是以前无线网络的50到100倍……很高兴看到这么多反对的声音和强有力的支持，沉默就代表着同意。
针对当前西方社会对5G的忧虑。《纽约时报》5月发文指出，这是俄罗斯政府利用媒体散布关于5G的谎言，目的是利用公众压力来减缓西方利用5G技术的速度。
