苹果公司目前拥有一系列面向家庭的产品，包括HomeKit（连接至第三方产品的软件服务）、HomePod（带语音识别、音乐等诸多功能的智能音箱）等等。目前苹果官方和Jadallah本人都拒绝发表评论。近期苹果收购了一家名为Pullstring的初创公司，这是一家专门从事语音玩具的初创公司。这笔购买可以帮助这家智能手机制造商成为连接客厅的中心。
Sam Jadallah曾在1987年至1999年在 微软 担任公司副总裁，并在Mohr Davidow公司担任风险投资。随后他自己创办了Otto智能门锁公司，曾得到了风险投资公司Greylock的资金支持。在Otto发布设计精美、支持蓝牙和WiFi的智能门锁四个月之后宣布停止运营。
