Last Thursday, Julián Duque and I had the honor of speaking at JSConf US in Carlsbad, CA, to tell the story about the work that communities that many people have helped build in Colombia. Our talk focused mostly on the Colombian JavaScript scene, and we aimed at representing everyone’s hard work in creating such an awesome community since the credit is not ours.

At the end of our talk, we committed to creating shareable resources in Spanish so that other folks in Hispanic-America can replicate what we’ve been able to achieve with less effort and pains. For this reason, we’re re-launching our Colombia.dev swag to fund the production of this material and to continue the sponsorship of new meet-ups with food & beverages.

By purchasing a t-shirt, hoodie, or tank-top , you will become our ambassador and also help us fund the production of a booklet and other written materials that will support the creation of meet-ups and conferences all over North, Central & South America like Bogotá JS , Medellín JS , and JSConf Colombia .

How can you get involved?

We’ll share the video from our talk once it’s ready, but in the meantime, we leave you with the slides so you can get a sneak peek. We dedicate this talk to all the meetup and conference organizers in developing nations who despite the additional challenges give all their heart to help others learn .

A special thank you to Lilondra for providing such awesome creative direction and styling of our keynote template  — you should hire her too !
